Our assembly's theme was Who We Are. We did it about peoples rights and responsibilities.
During our unit, we learnt about; child labour, what life's like to not have much money and forms of abuse. We all discovered we were extremely fortunate.
Our assembly took lots of practising and commitment. But the final time was a big success!
First we did bullying in our assembly. The first group did cyber bullying. They pretended to find unkind photos of someone on social media. The next group pretended to be teenagers and be unkind and also be cyber bullies but they went and showed it to the person in the photo and be even meaner. The next group did dis inclusion. They pretended to leave someone out for no reason at all. Then another group did name-calling. They called each other chicken head, brainless creature and so on. They all showed lots of enthusiasm and creativity.Then another group did physical bullying and pretended to beat each other up.
Then Valarie did her part about how we are so lucky, which made her show heaps of independence. I wouldn't have had the confidence to do that.
Then a few groups did things about moving from Afghanistan, a country with war, to New Zealand and that showed everyone how hard life is for some people.
Then some people pretended that they were so hard done by because they had to do chores. Then another few groups were children that had to make fireworks, break rocks, make cigarettes and have to survive on their own.
Then some people did some explanations and then it was all over, we had done it.
