Our basketball and tennis ball experiment.

 These are the steps of our cool experiment;
  1. Firstly there chemical potential energy which changed into muscular energy when Mrs Mitchell held the balls in her hand.
  2. When the balls are held out they have a large amount of gravitational potential energy.
  3. When the balls are let go the gravitational potential energy changes into kinetic movement energy.
  4. When the basketball hit the ground there was a small amount of mechanical energy and some sound energy. There was also potential energy in the split-second the ball was on the ground.
  5. Then the basketball was in the air and there was kinetic movement energy again.
  6. After that the basketball hit the tennis ball and made a small amount if sound energy.
  7. After being hit by the basketball, the tennis ball is blasted upwards creating another bit of sound energy and lots more kinetic movement energy.
This is one of our four experiments we have done in our class this term.

By Luke.
